DANIEL LOHER BVK
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT.

Daniel Loher is a Munich-based Director of Photography with over twenty years of experience crafting visual stories for cinema, television, commercials, and documentaries.
His work is driven by a desire to create atmosphere and emotional depth through light, camera movement, and close collaboration with directors and creative teams — always in service of story and character.

Before stepping fully into cinematography, he spent more than sixteen years as a Steadicam Operator, developing a deep understanding of physical storytelling that continues to inform his approach to camera and blocking today. Having lived in London and Los Angeles and worked internationally, he brings a calm, adaptable presence to set life.

Alongside filmmaking, photography remains an important part of his creative practice, with portraiture playing a central role in sharpening his sensitivity to performance and presence.

He is a member of the German Society of Cinematographers (BVK) and the Steadicam Operators Association (SOA).
