DANIEL LOHER BVK
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT DANIEL LOHER

I am a Munich-based Director of Photography with over twenty years of experience crafting visual stories for cinema, television, commercials, and documentaries.
My work is driven by a desire to create atmosphere and emotional depth through light, movement, and close collaboration across all departments.
I enjoy shaping each project’s visual language together with its director and creative teams — always seeking images that support the story and the characters within it.

Before stepping fully into cinematography, I spent over sixteen years working as a Steadicam Operator, developing a deep understanding of camera movement and physical storytelling that continues to shape my work today.

Having lived in London and Los Angeles and worked internationally has broadened my perspective and contributed to a calm, adaptable way of working on set.

Alongside film, portrait photography remains an important part of my creative life and continues to sharpen my sensitivity to character and presence.

I am a member of the German Society of Cinematographers (BVK) and the Steadicam Operators Association (SOA).
